1. About us
Snapsurance is a trading name of SNAPSURANCE LIMITED, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 15472843, with its registered office at Snapsurance 124 City Road, London, England, EC1V 2NX.
You can reach us at info@snapsurance.co.uk or on 020 3432 4460. Our hours are Monday to Friday 9am–5pm and Saturday to Sunday 10am–4pm.
2. These terms
These terms apply whenever you submit an enquiry through our website, or use any of our services. By ticking the declaration box on one of our forms, you confirm you have read and accepted them.
We may update these terms. The version that applies to you is the one published when you submitted your enquiry or placed your order.
Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights as a consumer.
3. Insurance enquiries
Snapsurance is not an insurance broker and is not authorised or regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. We provide administrative support and, with your consent, introduce you to FCA-authorised brokers and insurers. We do not advise on, arrange or sell insurance, and we do not recommend any particular policy or provider."
When you submit an insurance enquiry:
- We review the details you have given and check they are complete.
- With your consent, we pass them to an FCA-authorised broker or insurer.
- That firm carries out the quote search and deals with you directly.
- Any policy you take out is a contract between you and the insurer, not between you and us. Their terms, their policy wording and their cancellation rights apply.
Submitting an enquiry does not guarantee a quote, an offer of cover, or a saving. Some vehicles, modifications and driving histories cannot be placed, and we cannot promise a result before we have looked at your details.
4. Our admin fee
We charge an administration fee for the work involved in reviewing, preparing and submitting your enquiry. This fee is for our administrative service only. It is not a premium, and it is not payment for insurance.
You will not be charged a fee if we have not started work. If you are a consumer and you paid the fee at distance, you have 14 days to cancel, but by asking us to start immediately you accept that the right to cancel is lost once the service has been fully performed.
We donate 3% of our admin fee to charity.
5. Your responsibilities
Insurance depends entirely on the accuracy of what you tell us. You must:
- give information that is true, accurate and complete;
- declare every modification to the vehicle, including remaps, suspension, wheels, exterior styling, lighting and interior changes;
- declare all claims, accidents, convictions and penalty points for every driver;
- name the correct main driver — the person who actually uses the vehicle most; and
- tell us or your insurer about anything that changes before cover starts.
Deliberately misrepresenting who drives a car most — sometimes called "fronting" — is fraud. So is failing to declare modifications or convictions. It can void your policy, result in a claim being refused, leave you personally liable for damage, and be recorded against you. We will not submit an enquiry we believe to be inaccurate, and we do not refund the admin fee where an enquiry fails because the information given was wrong.
6. Luxury car hire
We act as a broker for vehicle hire, sourcing vehicles from third-party suppliers. The hire contract is between you and the supplier, and their terms apply.
- An enquiry is not a booking. Nothing is reserved until we confirm availability in writing and any deposit has been paid.
- Suppliers set their own minimum age, licence history and deposit requirements. We will confirm these before you commit.
- A security deposit is held against the insurance excess on self-drive hire and is returned after the vehicle is inspected on return.
- You are responsible for fuel, tolls, congestion and clean-air charges, parking and traffic penalties, and any damage, excess mileage or valeting charges under the supplier's terms.
- Vehicles are subject to availability. If a specific vehicle becomes unavailable we will offer an alternative or a refund of anything paid to us.
- Cancellation terms are set by the supplier and will be confirmed before you book.
7. SnapKits parts and workshop work
Parts bought through SnapKits are sold subject to your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
- Fitment is checked against the registration you give us. If the details are wrong, we cannot be responsible for a part that does not fit.
- Where we fit parts or carry out workshop work, we will use reasonable care and skill.
- Remapping and coding alter your vehicle's original software. You are responsible for checking the effect on any manufacturer warranty, and for declaring the change to your insurer.
- Where we hold your original software file, we will keep it for as long as we reasonably can, but we cannot guarantee indefinite storage.
8. Our liability
We are responsible for loss you suffer that is a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for loss that is not foreseeable.
We are not liable for the acts, omissions, decisions or pricing of any insurer, broker or hire supplier, nor for a policy being declined, priced higher than expected, or voided because information given to us was inaccurate or incomplete.
Where we are liable, our liability is limited to the amount you have paid us for the relevant service.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.
9. Your data
We handle your personal information as described in our privacy policy, which forms part of these terms. Please read it before submitting an enquiry — particularly the sections on who we share your details with and how long we keep them.
10. Complaints
If something has gone wrong, email info@snapsurance.co.uk with the details. We will acknowledge your complaint within 5 working days and aim to resolve it within 8 weeks.
A complaint about a policy, a quote or the advice you were given is a matter for the broker or insurer you dealt with, and they have their own complaints process. Depending on who you dealt with and the nature of the complaint, you may also be able to refer it to the Financial Ombudsman Service at financial-ombudsman.org.uk.
11. General
If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest continues to apply. If we do not insist that you do something required by these terms, that does not prevent us from requiring it later.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, though if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you may also bring proceedings there.
